Level 3 Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving

Approved by FutureQuals

Description

The purpose of the Level 3 Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving is to provide the learner with the skills, knowledge and understanding required to drive an ambulance vehicle in response to an emergency.

This is the same qualification that is currently delivered by NIAS and other Ambulance Trusts across the UK and is a requirement if you wish to work in a frontline emergency role. It is only one of the components required if you wish to apply directly to an ambulance service trust, you will also require an appropriate clinical qualification (see the Level 4 Diploma in Associate Ambulance Practitioner).

Entry requirements:

Learners must have a contract with an NHS or CQC registered ambulance service and provide evidence of such, an example would be a letter from your organisation confirming your role (which will be verified with the organisation)

Learners must be at least 21 years old (Insurance) hold a full valid clean driving licence.

Learners are required to attend an initial pre-enrollment interview prior to being enrolled on the course.

Method of Assessment:

Learners are required to generate a portfolio of evidence that meets each of the learning outcomes in the qualification specification. This is done by using the evidence logbook which can be downloaded here.

Learners are responsible for building their own portfolio of evidence, guidance will be provided by your tutor / assessor and can include evidence such as reflective logs on what you have learned during various sessions, observations and feedback from your assessors during practical sessions etc.
