HSENI Training, Assessment & Standards Monitoring

We strive to have the highest quality of first aid training within the industry sector in Northern Ireland. In order to achieve this we have put in place the following measures in relation to the FAW suite of courses:

  1. Any courses will always be delivered by an Instructor who has been registered and approved with the HSENI EMAS, to deliver the FAW suite of courses on our behalf.
  2. Any assessments will always be conducted by an assessor who has been registered and approved with the HSENI EMAS, to assess the FAW suite of courses on our behalf
  3. Instructors and Assessors will be appraised delivering a Non-Statutory HSENI First Aid Course prior to us completing and submitting their HSENI EMAS registration.
  4. Annual appraisals will be carried out on both instructors and assessors, using the relevant observation records. Any issues identified will be addressed and an action plan agreed with the Instructor or Assessor
  5. Any materials used on the FAW suite of courses will be pre-approved by the Director, as well as being checked by an additional trainer for relevance and completeness prior to being submitted for approval via the HSENI EMAS.
  6. Certificates will only be issued and signed by the accountable person on receipt of course documentation confirming:
    • the student’s attendance at all sessions, recorded on a class register that is signed by an approved  Instructor (described in point 1 above)
    • the student’s competence, recorded on an assessment summary sheet that is signed and approved by an Assessor (described in point 2 above)
  7. Instructors and assessors will be appraised annually preferably delivering or assessing an FAW Suite course, by the Director or another suitably qualified person. Appraisals will be recorded on the appropriate observation records, a copy of which will be provided to the Instructor or Assessor along with an agreed action plan to develop or maintain the standard being delivered,
