First Response Emergency Care (FREC) is now available in Northern Ireland!
This new vocational route is the first step to becoming a Paramedic outside of a University Degree in the UK, with this qualification specifically designed for those seeking a career in the emergency services, ambulance services, event medical sector or who work in high risk environments; this new qualification is set to become the standard in pre-hospital qualifications.
Successful candidates will gain the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to be able to deal with a wide range of pre-hospital care emergencies, such as: managing a patients airway; catastrophic bleeding; management of fractures; medical emergencies and many more!
Candidates will be able to progress on to the First Response Emergency Care (RQF) Level 4, and First Response Emergency Care (RQF) Level 5; and after successful completion will be able to register on the Level 6 Diploma in Paramedic Practice.
What’s more, this Ofqual regulated qualification is clinically endorsed by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care – The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and fulfils the competencies set out in the Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) skills framework at descriptor level D, meaning that learners can book this course with total confidence!
